Spring Bouquet

I have been having such a great time with my abstract art pieces. This one just seems so soft and romantic with pops of great color... Hope you enjoy it.

Abstract Art

For this latest piece, I was interested in creating something abstract. I used some brush in the beginning phases of this, but quickly decided that I preferred the palette knife marks I was making more. I also painted on canvas as opposed to panel as I normally do.

My focus was thick rich marks of beautiful colors. I see so many pieces that I love, and the common thread always appears to be the colors. I tried to keep this loose and interesting without getting lost in detail and had a great time doing it.

Animal Eddie

Eddie Vedder, lead singer of Pearl Jam. If you've ever seen this band live (or sat in the second row...), then you'll have developed quite an affinity for the man, not to mention the music. My husband is a Pearl Jam fanatic, and the love has trickled right down to me, and our boys. Sorry you can't see his eyes in this painting, but take my word for it--he's got animal eyes. It's a look I will keep all to myself while you enjoy the painting! It was done with brush.

Crocus

The spring teasing has begun here in Southern Wisconsin. The snow has nearly vanished, and I just know all of the bulbs will be breaking through the ground soon. A warmer day here and there gives hope, but also builds impatience. This has been the coldest winter I can ever remember having with about a months worth of below zero days.

There is nothing I look forward to more than seeing a little color outside.
