Grapefruit (2)

One thing for sure is that as an artist I am constantly trying to learn and do new things with my painting. Aren't most artists constantly striving to be better?? It can be frustrating to not be better now and it's time consuming to get better! Each piece takes us there, little by little... It's a lesson in patience, but the learning is what keeps it interesting and keeps me coming back to the easel each day.

With this painting it was me using the brush and striving for looseness--that was it. This is the second time I have painted this grapefruit; the first time was with the palette knife and also smaller. Either of these (or larger!) would be amazing hanging in a kitchen. LOVE these colors!
