Seasons of a Tree
Took this great photo of a tree with a long shadow this past summer while hiking with my dad. I always loved just the quiet simplicity of the photo. Thought I'd have a little fun experimenting with seasons and also with application.

In the Wild
My very sweet painting friend Sherri had a friend travel to the Serengeti a while back. She generously passed along many photos to me, including some great elephant ones. I much prefer to paint animals in their natural habitat and love elephants, so I was thrilled.

Wisconsin Wildflowers
My family and I can look down our backyard into this spectacular view of wild flocks. Of course I had to ride my bike around to get closer views of what I think is this most amazing display we've had in years. Being up hill and looking down into the greenbelt, it truly does looks like a river of wildflowers.

Haiku-Pauwela
Painted this for my mom from a photo she took while in Hawaii. It looked like a challenge! I love the debth and light in the painting--the clouds were tough for me.

Three Littles
Have been craving color and also working on a lot of small canvases to just kind of play and experiment. The three here have juicy thick paint and really nice movement. I have had a great time painting these and hope to choose some of my favorites to do on larger canvases.

Hill in the Back
This gorgeous view is on the way to a favorite sled hill out in our backyard. We live up from a greenbelt and the views in the back always take my breath away. On this particular day there was the most beautiful light and shadows, and a warm glow around everything. It truly was one of those moments where life feels pretty amazing.
