Honey (Bee)

This was inspired by my son, who was part of a state wide championship this year. The group project was finding a solution to the decline in our bee population. They did an amazing job! I don't think most of us stop to think about how very important bees are to us!

Robin at the Door

Received a new camera for my birthday and was bird-watching the other day. It was warm and sunny after a snowfall and the robins were everywhere. Captured this one with it's shadow right outside my door. ❤️

A Little Screwy

Wine is one of my favorite indulgences. Thought it might be fun to paint the necessary tool. Can you imagine if you had a bottle and a glass, but no opener?!

Net Shadow

Pulled into our driveway the other morning and was so happy to see the early morning sun after many gray, rainy days in a row. The boys' basketball hoop was making a great shadow on the house and thought it would be exciting to paint. I really wanted to get a bit of the actual net in the painting too--I think it's turned out pretty cool!

One-handed

We have always been big bike-riders in our family. Like most little boys, my sons both want to ride with one or no hands. I ignore the panic and try to focus on the great shadows they make. :)

Shadow Dancer

Went on a walk by myself the other day. I'm not much of a walker, prefer my bike or hiking, but the weather called for it. Oddly, it's the first time I can remember taking a walk alone in a good 10 years!

A beautiful leaf and cast shadow sat on the sidewalk together just like this. I caught a photo of it the moment before it blew away.

Acoustic Guitar

We hung a few of my husband's guitars on special hooks next to the piano. This one had an interesting shadow on the wall, and I finally found an angle that was exciting to paint. Love the golden colors of the guitar contrasted against the light blue/green wall.

Opie

My dad was visiting from Nevada a few weeks ago. It was hard for him to be away from his dog because they spend a lot of time together hiking and going on long walks. There were a few photos on his phone of Opie, and the light on this one was really good. I had a great time painting this nice and loose.
