Sunflowers & Coneflowers

After my workshop, I honestly thought "I will take the last few weeks of summer to enjoy family time and paint after school starts." However, the urge to get back in the studio after days of JUST painting was too much to take. I grabbed a few 6x6 panels and took some sessions to try and incorporate new ways of painting merged together with my own style. Of course, I need more time! Luckily the boys were occupied, so my "mother's guilt" was kept to a minimum. :)

Bittersweet Bouquet

The seasons are changing right before my eyes! As always I am reluctant to say good-bye to summer. One perk to ease my pain is that the trees are already in full color change here in Southern Wisconsin. This painting is my attempt at embracing fall--this being the first day of October and all. :)

Sunflower 2

This happy sunflower was a commissioned piece to be given as a second anniversary and birthday gift. I was glad to have the opportunity to paint another one, forward facing this time, with the same bright blue sky. Hope they love it!
