Little Me

When I'm stuck for inspiration or having a rough day, it can be very difficult to paint. My goal is to be doing my art every day, so I always look for a way to do that. Some days that might even be just getting out my camera or looking through old photos for inspiration, which is how I came across this old photo of myself. Something about the quiet nature of it spoke to me and I instantly wanted to spend time with her.

Vintage Vogue

Every once in a while I get stuck for inspiration. Whenever that happens, I find myself wanting to paint things that are outside of my comfort zone. What better way to stretch and grow as an artist, and also to keep things interesting!

This was painted from a vintage Vogue photograph. I love her classy, yet gypsy persona. And am especially drawn to the amazing jewelry and hair turban.

Dog Commissions

Both of these paintings were commissioned as Christmas gifts. I love having the opportunity to paint dogs. My hope is always that their little personalities shine through.

Animal Eddie

Eddie Vedder, lead singer of Pearl Jam. If you've ever seen this band live (or sat in the second row...), then you'll have developed quite an affinity for the man, not to mention the music. My husband is a Pearl Jam fanatic, and the love has trickled right down to me, and our boys. Sorry you can't see his eyes in this painting, but take my word for it--he's got animal eyes. It's a look I will keep all to myself while you enjoy the painting! It was done with brush.
