Hog Island Oysters

This fun little painting was inspired by one of the best meals I've ever had. We went to Hog Island Oyster Co. and had 'em every way I think. Cold oysters are always my favorite, but the cooked ones are prettier to paint.

Blood Oranges

A Little Sour

Was struggling to find some inspiration the other day, so went to my kitchen. The only thing calling to me was a small yellow lemon. I sliced it and started to play around with compositions. Am really happy with both of these!

Wisconsin Peaches

This is the first time I have ever seen a peach tree in Wisconsin, and in my own town too. My son and I were on a bike ride and we had to get a closer look. We quickly got off our bikes in disbelief! The owner came out and I asked to take a few photos of her beautiful tree. She then offered us to pick some--what a generous person! A real peach! :) They were delicious too.

Mini Melon 1 & 2

They were selling these seedless mini-melons for $1.00. Got it home and cut right into it. First I set it up in a bunch of different positions for still-life paintings. Then put it out for lunch for my two boys. Best dollar I have ever spent!

Meyer Lemon

Were lucky enough to have a huge Meyer Lemon tree in our yard while in California. Smaller than a regular lemon, and a bit sweeter towards orange fruits. Delicious in cocktails!
