My mom sent me flowers the other day. So sweet, and double bonus! Not only do we get to enjoy their beauty, I also get to paint them.

Flowers Galore!
Well, I think I've gotten the florals out of my system--for now! There are about six total and all have been added to my brand new website. Check it out if you haven't yet.
I was feeling the round vase on these two and just love the freshness of the arrangements.

Purple & Coral
A friend I taught with asked me to do a commissioned painting for her newly remodeled bathroom. She provided a color palette and wanted flowers in a glass vase. I couldn't pass up another opportunity to paint glass and felt spring with this one! :)

Roses & Pomegranate
I thought pomegranate season was over, so was thrilled to find dwarf sized ones at the store this week. Also purchased some mini roses in an antique pink that I thought would look beautiful in my new geometric vase. Some adorable "little" subjects to paint.

Roses in Vase
Wanted to keep this happy arrangement loose and full of light.

Flowers in White Vase
Felt like it had been a bit since I'd painted (or seen!) flowers. These just make me happy.

Yountville
When we start entering the colder months and loosing color outside, my inspiration seems to fade some and I struggle a bit more for painting ideas. Luckily we had an amazing trip to Napa this past summer; my friend and I rode rental bikes 13 miles or so to Yountville for lunch. It was absolutely beautiful there! We biked around part of the town and saw so many picturesque places, including this building surrounded by roses.

Roses, Yarrow & Bittersweet
I know the roses are the star of this painting, but I am a bittersweet lover and it is what drew me to this arrangement. My mom had a selection of flowers in vases and she generously allowed me to use them. My first time painting roses too, and I'm thrilled!
