White Daffodil

I remember painting a daffodil years ago, one of the first "palette knife paintings" I had done. I went on to ONLY paint with palette knife for an entire year. Really can't say how or why I did it, because I was never able to acquire the looseness that I have with the brush. Have since tried to bring it out, it's just not for me. However, I do like to see a lot of brushwork on my paintings, so maybe it stems from that time...

Anyway! More spring inspiration :)

Nestled In

Decided to continue with my measuring cups on patterned fabric theme. These adorable hedgehogs were resting on a cheery table runner. I love the reflected colors on them!

Farmyard Fowl

Have been enjoying painting large, nice and loose with some bright pops of color.

Late Bloomers

These are some late bloomers from my garden, including cosmos, black-eyed-susan, and some perennial alliums.

Farmer's Market Flowers

Was having lunch at one of my favorite restaurants on the square after visiting the farmer's market. The outdoor tables had the most adorable little arrangements. Thought this one was so summery set against the blue tables.

Daisy

The daisy population is out of control in my backyard. Excellent for painting through!

Beach Umbrella

Beach umbrella because I've always wanted to paint one, but with stripes?? Not sure what I was thinking! I do have a thing for black and white stripes, although I decided to go more blue here. It was a great challenge.

Bulb of Garlic

Set up some still life options with things I had in the kitchen and was drawn to the white of this garlic. Painting white is magical; there are so many colors to find there. Also found it to be quite dramatic, so decided to keep the darker background.

Chicken

Can't say why I paint chickens. Perhaps I am easily amused? I do love to paint animals that I find entertaining to watch and chickens are certainly that.
